I Dunno But...

Some aspects of this: http://the-mouse-trap.blogspot.com/2009/03/bipolar-phenotype-excessive-self.html rang a little bell with 'recognition' enscribed upon it. Any takers?

To me, it sounds like an over simplification with a grain of truth. But heck. Who's in the mood to quibble and argue when the world is a brief ball of blue and green, shortly to become red and grey. (Geologically speaking).

I'm certainly not in the mood to quibble and argue; not because the world is about to become red and gray (geologically speaking), but because it is currently blue and green :-)

I read the first third of the piece, and just skimmed the rest - have a lot on my mind pro tem, and a hard time concentrating on other things - so, this maybe should be taken with a grain of salt. Although I also browsed her blog, and found what I'd suspected...

I find it rather disturbing, that this woman writes what almost amounts to a whole novel, analysing the ups and downs of "bipolar disorder", that she actually comes as close to the truth - "mania" being sort of a flight forward, "depression" sort of a flight backwards - as you possibly can, just to get stuck in this theoretical analysing, not able to make the connection to natural (human) defence mechanisms. Because she, beyond all the psychology, is stuck in the medical model. A mix of postmodern french psychoanalysis and biopsychiatry. Not my cup of tea...

French, with capital F, of course. Did I mention, I had a lot on my mind?... ;)

Thanks Marian and Mr Tempest. Being off the drugs now for a few months is exciting, but so far ok. Well,I'm flying off the handles at the moment, but as my wife said, "I love you when you're like this" but it's the early days of an up. We'lll see.

Marian - I think the blogger in question is a bloke called Sandy, but I might be a complete tool and have misread it.
